how Melancholy dwelled inside Delight
Jan. 5th, 2011 01:58 pmH. came back from the Jerusalem shuk with a surprise for me: kumquats. For me this is not only wonderful but also very moving. This summer before my wedding I was also surprised with kumquats and finally thought to look up a poem which my father always mentioned before eating them (a rare occasion in Saskatchewan). It was "A Kumquat for John Keats."
During the summer I finally read it, as I was eating the kumquats for the first time in years. And now also I re-read and feel that strange sadness.
( Today I found the right fruit for my prime )
