Disclaimer: Not Remotely True
Aug. 28th, 2011 08:25 amLast night I dreamt that my sister was coming to visit. I waited for her at the airport, but when she emerged, she was wearing a niqab. "What's going on?" I asked, a little shocked. She explained that she was getting married... to her dad.
For some reason in the dream I didn't think flipping out would be productive, so as I drove her to the main city of Tel Aviv (where she was staying), I kept trying to give gentle hints, such as, "You know, women don't HAVE to get married... they don't need men at all nor do they have to obey them..." She blandly agreed and didn't seem to find anything weird about her situation at all.
My sister told me she wanted to stop to eat at a certain restaurant. It was treif, but again I for some reason bit my tongue and thought to myself, "Don't alienate her further, you don't have to eat anything yourself."
Finally they brought my sister her dish. Onto her platter they poured straight-up blood from a saucepan while she rubbed her hands eagerly.
This was the last straw. I turned over my chair and shouted "You idiot Reformim, don't you know the first thing about what's forbidden?"
